Fiber Arts Workshop
Tie One On!-Embellished Tassels with Sue Nylander (SNS)
Friday, October 3rd, 10:00-12:00, Sue Nylander Studio
Create beautiful yarn tassels from wool, rayon, or cotton yarn and embellish them with needle lace, wrappings, and fancy “collars;” use them for curtain tiebacks, decorating baskets or totes, identifying your scissors, or hang them on the Christmas tree. A variety of yarns will be available for your use. If you have favorite colors or yarns you prefer to use bring them with you and a pair of scissors. |

Sue Nylander has a passion for unique fiber arts. She began by learning to sew and to crochet at the knees of her mother and her aunt. She studied silk-screening and stenciling fabric as part of her art studies at the university. She spent a career exploring fiber arts created by women across many cultures and teaching dozens of the techniques she's learned. She will inspire you with her knowledge and enthusiasm for color, texture, and design in everything from fiber to yarn to fabric to garment. |
